Surf fishing is shore-based fishing where your feet are planted on the land (sand/beach) and you are casting into the water. A surf charter is in the beach, and not from a boat or pier.

We can run our beach surf-fishing charters on beaches in Jacksonville, Saint Augustine, Palm Coast, Flagler Beach, Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, and New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

Bring what you need to have a fun day at the beach (hat, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, beach chairs, beach towels, bug spray, camera, water shoes, drinks and snacks --no alcohol please, and no glass! In certain seasons you might need a light jacket or sweater in the morning or evening) and make sure you have a Florida Saltwater Shoreline Fishing License (Free for FL residents, $17 for a 3-day pass for non-residents). Bring a cooler and ice to take your fish home. We supply surf-fishing instructions from a professional guide, all the bait, tackle, and equipment needed to catch fish!

Absolutely!

Yes! There's nothing like seeing a child's face light up when they reel in a fish! If you have children who are too young to hold a 10–12-foot fishing pole and learn to fish (even with assistance), we can show them how to look for sand fleas for bait and sharks teeth (depending on the beach). Feel free to bring along some beach toys too. Note: Children must be monitored by parents at all times. The guide cannot watch children, as they will be working directly with those fishing.

We will be planning ahead for top weather and surf conditions. If schedule permits, we can move days and times around. There's always the potential for a brief shower in Florida, but thunderstorms will put an end to the trip for safety's sake. In the event we have to cancel your trip entirely for weather or other safety concerns, it will be rescheduled if your time permits.

We will be determining the best location and time of day for fishing a day or so prior to the trip. We try to choose locations with public restrooms if possible. If you only have a certain window or time or want to fish in a particular location, we can do that too as long as we can get our surf-fishing cart safely out on the beach.

We accept payment through Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, and cash. A deposit of $100.00 will be due at the time of booking, and on the day of the trip. All deposits are fully refundable for cancellations up to 3 days in advance of your trip.

Yes, tipping 10-20% gratuity is the industry standard for a great job done by your guide.

Cancellations are accepted up to 3 days prior to your reserved charter date. If you decide to cancel your booking less than 3 days in advance, the $100 deposit will not be refunded. There is no cost to the client for cancellation made by the guide due to poor weather conditions. If weather will not allow us to fish and if your charter cannot be rescheduled, then your deposit will be refunded to you.

We will do everything in our power and that we know to do to get a fish on the line for you throughout the experience. However, we cannot promise that the fish will be biting or will be present where we are fishing. We have years of experience, and if we are struggling to get the fish to bite, most likely others are experiencing similar results. But we will guarantee that we will do everything in our power to help you have a fun time on the beach!

Anyone between the ages of 16 to 65 is required to have a Florida Shore-Fishing Salt Water License (Free for FL residents, $17 for a 3-day pass for non-residents). I also highly recommend taking the free shore-based shark fishing course.

Monday-Saturday, year-round, weather permitting. We believe it's important to set aside a day to rest and worship, so we do not run trips on Sundays. Some holidays we might be closed and others we may be open. Inquire for more info.

There are so many different species of fish that can be caught in Northeast Florida while fishing from the beach! Between 200-300 species, actually. Some of the most common fish we catch on our beach fishing charters are pompano, whiting, redfish, bluefish, mangrove snapper, ladyfish, Jack crevalle, black drum, flounder, as well as sharks, stingrays, and smaller baitfish.

Yes! One key to catching fish from the beach is to find where the fish are and to be able to reach them. Cathy will teach whoever wants to learn the proper surf casting techniques.

You sure will! Pay close attention to what Cathy is doing when rigging and rebaiting lines and if you are brave enough to handle the bait, you are welcome to rig the lines and cast it out! We will tailor the trip to what you would like to learn and do.

We sure do! Whether you are wanting to learn more from a professional or if you have never even touched a fishing pole before, Cathy has worked with people of all experience levels and crafts the trip to help you learn right where you are at.

Yes! Being able to "read the beach" and understand what the underwater structure looks like is crucial to finding the fish. We will already be set up at a prime location before you arrive, so make sure to ask Cathy about this important topic during your charter. Sometimes we get so busy catching fish and rebaiting that a few topics get overlooked. But clients are always welcome to text her with questions after the charter.
